Precautionary Measures for the Longer life of your Silver bracelets

Bracelets are adored by women of all ages. There is a wide range of Silver bracelets for women that are being purchased every day. But still many women don't know how to take proper care of these elegant embellishments. When silver is exposed to particular elements, it can cause it to oxidize or to tarnish. The catalysts for tarnish include many elements such as sulfur, oxygen, or even the salt residue from your hands. There is some proper care and cleaning that one must know to keep silver best looking. Here are some helpful tips to keep your silver bracelet looking beautiful.

Preventing your bracelets from staining

After you buy silver bracelet online there are some precautionary measures that needs to be considered for longer life of your bracelets. There are certain products and chemicals that can cause your silver bracelet to stain that should be prevented. Do not apply any sort of perfume, sun tan oil, hair color, rubber, hair spray and body lotions while wearing your silver adornment. These all have chemicals that can potentially cause your embellishment to tarnish.
Ladies should always remember to remove any silver jewelry while working with chemicals such as ammonia, bleach, finger nail polish removers with acetone and alcohol. Also the acids in cardboard and newspaper can be noxious to your silver bracelet. Avoid contact with wool and do not shower with your silver bracelet on. Keep your adornment away from these things to avoid potential tarnish.

Give special cleaning treatment to your Bracelets

You should clean your silver bracelet on a regular basis to remove tarnish. For cleaning your wristband, do not use any materials that are too rough and that will scratch the adornment. Never use a toothbrush for cleaning purpose, irrespective of the soft bristles of the brush. Rather, clean your silver bracelet with a soft or a lint-free cloth. It is better to wear plastic gloves instead of rubber gloves since it can perhaps cause the silver to stain. The cleaning steps that need to be followed are as under.

1. With your plastic gloves and soft cloth you are all set to begin cleaning your silver bracelet.
2. Start removing any dust or debris that could possibly scratch the item.
3. Rinse the bracelet with warm water and mild soap (avoid scented soaps) and pat dry.
4. The bracelet is now ready to be polished. Many polishes are available in different forms (i.e. pastes, liquids, and foams). My advice would be to use a polish that gives a wax-like finish; this creates a barrier for future tarnish.

5. No matter what you use, be sure to remove all the polish from your jewelry. To finish, rinse in warm water (do not soak) and pat dry.
